with ftp -n I can connect to a server but dolphin won´t let me. How can I troubleshoot dolphin ftp connect?

What did you try ? What message did it give you ?
Connecting to ftp with dolphin, should consist in typing a url to ftp://my-server in the location field.
Try again launching dolphin from the command line it might output valuable information.
