Trying to install flatpak apps with discover and software gives same error

When using Discover to install items from Flathub with this error

please copy and paste the output of

kinfo

and

lsblk

Based on the message, it sounds like a process on your system that Flatpak needs to use is broken somehow. If flatpak install [the ID of the app] in a terminal window does the same thing, then that’s what’s going on.
