Unregistering KWin shortcuts when uninstalling scripts

Hi All,

I notice that there are a few KWin shortcuts that do nothing at all (e.g. Walk through desktops). In this particular case it is because that functionality was removed; however the shortcut is still present and can be assigned a hotkey (and does nothing).

I installed a KWin script that defined a new shortcut; when I uninstalled that script the shortcut was not removed. (Assigning the shortcut to a key does nothing.)

Is there a way to remove shortcuts that aren’t used anymore so that new users aren’t frustrated by assigning it to a key and having nothing happen…

Thanks in advance,

GI

Is there still a shortcut in ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc under the [kwin] section for the KWin script?

If there is, perhaps you could remove that shortcut, perhaps even the shortcut line entirely and that may fix it? I’d guess you might have to logout and back in again to see if you can use the key binding.

Yep, that was the problem. Thanks a lot.
