Occasionally after LibreOffice runs, particularly with csv files, I get tmp files left over on my desktop. They are size 0, you cannot remove them, trash won’t work, and they cannot be seen, if you go to the command line and the same folder as the Desktop. Evidently these icons are in the kysyscoca area? How do you clean up this mess?
That sounds like a reload problem/bug.
I.e. files being shown that have already been deleted
Krake:
You are correct. The plasma desktop is getting ready to pop the icon on the desktop from the tmp file, but the temp file is deleted too quickly for Plasma to recognize that it’s gone. Then an un-erasable icon is left sitting on the desktop. Surely there should be some way to purge this from the kyscoca?
I doubt that has anything to do with ksycoca, more likely an issue with file system monitoring.
