Unsure about bug severity or component

Hello!

I was thinking about filing a bug report on bugs.kde.org, but was unsure of how it should be classified, and thus am asking for help here.

The issue is regarding the specific symbol used in the Currency field under Region & Language in system settings.

The currency symbol used for Saudi Arabian Riyals is ر.س (Similar to SAR when translated to English), which is okay, but as of the 20th of February, 2025, the KSA changed their currency’s symbol to (and was added to Unicode 17.0 in September 2025, as the codepoint U+20C1).

This is a very minor issue, of course, so I was just unsure if I should classify this under “Minor”, or “Wishlist”. But, I’m also unsure which component this falls under. (And I don’t wanna take anymore of the KDE maintainers’ time than this probably will)

Thank you all very much for your time and attention with this request!

This is about a thing that already exists in code but should be corrected, so not Wishlist.

As for the severity, just leave it as Normal. Severity is for triagers to set. Users just need to care whether it’s Normal or Wishlist.

When clicking on the huge button to create a bug report, there’s an “I don’t know” option for cases when you don’t know where it should be filed. Leaving that for triagers to put the report in the right place is fine.

Alright, thank you very much! (also, I like your profile picture)
