Update to Gnumeric spreadsheet

I know it’s a Gnome program, but I’ve been using the Gnumeric spreadsheet for personal finance and statistical purposes for many years.

The supplied version in Neon is 1.12.56 (which was released in 2023). It has several bugs that affect me.

The current stable version per the Gnumeric web site is 1.12.59 released in 2025. Some of the bugs affecting me have been addressed in this version. Is there any chance of seeing Gnumeric upgraded on Neon?

No, since neon as an OS is Ubuntu LTS, and that is the version they provide in 24.04.

You’d want to consider Flatpak or similar if you need something newer than stock.
