I’m trying out other WM experiences, and installed swaync. Is it possible to use not use swaync while using plasma but continue using swaync with other WM?

I haven’t tried anything like what you’re doing, but based on what’s described there, it could be possible that something from Sway is installed or activated before Plasma loads, and therefore “claims” the D-Bus paths for notifications?
As a general note - if you’re currently trying out different desktop environments on the same user profile, it might be helpful to instead create separate profiles for each one (or even use a separate installations or VMs if possible). Configuration “collisions” like this can happen, as each environment might assume that it’s supposed to control shared aspects of your profile or of the system, like notifications, fonts, cursors, etc.
