Use root to lock screen / compatibility with authd

I need to use auth on my work PC which comes with ubuntu. I’d much rather use plasma instead of gnome, but I can’t unlock a session because SDDM/plasma don’t run PAM as root. Lockscreen while using authd with KDE · Issue #856 · ubuntu/authd · GitHub

Is there a way around that? Using GDM as screen lock (or any other screen locker) would be ok for me. If that’s not possible where should I file a feature request? I might be able to contribute a little if I know where

I’d say better backup and install Kubuntu.

I sadly can’t. I’m stuck with authd for authentication using Microsoft Entra ID.

Are you talking about the lock screen (META+L) or the Login Screen (SDDM)?

Cant you use GDM to login into Plasma?

The issue is the lock screen (meta+L).
