using circumflex in a keyboard shortcut

hi, im new kde user and have trouble setting circumflex, ^ ← this one, in a keyboard shortcut.

when i go to shortcuts and set it via the gui its working until next login.

also it doesnt look like its recognized correctly, heres a screenshot.

also went into ~/.config/kglobalshortcutsrc and added the ^ manually. shows the ^ visually but the shortcut doesnt work.

key is working without problems.

can i somehow map the keycode instead of the text?

Doesn’t that usually mean Ctrl?

So Ctrl_B might be written as ^B ?

have seen notation like that in AHK but didnt work when i tested it by editing the config manually with the default keyboard layout.

solved the problem by using a keyboard layout without dead keys

Also worth looking at is creating your custom layout… Basically ‘import’ the closest one to what you need, then you can re-write any of the more useless extras…
