After the criticism in the last post about the limitations of KUserFeedback (KUF) for doing data-driven UX work — let’s get more detailed and constructive:
I generally don’t have problems with enabling telemetry in software that I trust. Telemetry, if done without malicious, intrusive, privacy violating intent is definitely useful for software development. But yeah, “trust” is the key and I don’t trust the likes of Microsoft, Apple, NVIDIA, Google, etc., with telemetry as they don’t have a good track record of transparency, openness and truthfulness.
So transparent, clear, easily digestible (for average person without legal background) policy is of the outmost importance as well as communication with users.
