Vendor specific packages in KDE Linux (e.g. slimbook)

I’m currently looking for a new laptop. One option is the KDE Slimbook.

Slimbook has repos for Debian/Arch etc. with some packages. Not sure how important they are but some seem to be for correct hardware configuration in grub and firmware updates (link).
How would something like that work in KDE Linux?

For KDE Linux this is a prime use case for a systemd extension containing the files. Should work as long as the extension is mounted early enough in the boot process.
