My wife and I have our own laptop/desktops. She doesn’t like changes, ie. 5.1 ledger vs 5.2. Is there any potential corruption, etc. using 5.1 and 5.2 to to edit the same file(not at the same time)?
I upgrade from one version to the other often – even from 5.1 to 5.2 – and I never found any glitch in file format. Wait until one of the cognoscenti respond to place all your money on this bet, but this is just my (limited) experience and knowledge. A
To my knowledge, there shouldn’t be any problems with that. There’s no guarantee that this will be the case in the future, though.
The only advice I can give is to keep backups of the file so that you have a chance to revert in case something goes wrong. There’s been a recent post (in German though) that contains a small script to just do that.
Well, never is much guarantee about the future…
I backup files every day using robocopy and task scheduler so shouldn’t be much problem. Might be a problem determining what NOT to do in repair…
