Hello,
I’m currently running CachyOS with KDE Plasma (Wayland) as a new Linux user. I’ve encountered a frustrating issue: I cannot get any on-screen keyboard to work. This is particularly problematic as my current projects require text input, including Arabic, and I’m effectively stuck in the middle of work.
I’ve already tried several commonly suggested on-screen keyboards like Maliit, OnBoard, and Squeekboard, but unfortunately, none of these have functioned for me.
I’m quite surprised that, despite the wide array of applications KDE Plasma offers, a native on-screen keyboard is not available.
Could anyone recommend an on-screen keyboard that you know actually works consistently within a KDE Plasma (Wayland) environment, or provide specific troubleshooting steps to get one of the existing options functional? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
I’m ideally looking for a solution that behaves like the Windows 11 on-screen keyboard, where I can manually activate it by clicking an icon, rather than it appearing automatically.
