Vivaldi will not open Zoho Mail when I click a email link

I’m running Vivaldi on Arch with the Plasma desktop and have under default applications Zoho Mail set as my default email client. Whenever I click a email link in Vivaldi I get the below when it should be launching Zoho. Any ideas on rectifying this issue?

Unable to create KIO worker. Unknown protocol ‘mailto’.

Hi - how is each application installed? If either or both are through some containerized method, like Flatpak or Snap, there might be additional steps needed to handle those apps being able to handle interactions from outside of their “containers”.

Currently I have the Appimage straight from Zoho installed. At the time of creating this thread I had the version from WebCatalog installed. In the neither was a issue. I have checked and it looks like it may be a Chrome based browser issue, cause in browser based on Firefox a email link launches the Zoho Mail app and i8n Chrome based browsers it does not. Now I have gone into Zoho’s setting and clicked make Zoho the default, but this just causes email links to launch the Zoho online mail portal rather than the desktop app.

Hmm…strange that it works in Firefox, but not Chrome/Vivaldi. I have Thunderbird as my desktop email client, and use both Firefox and Vivaldi, and both seem to be able to direct mailto: links to Thunderbird alright…how is Vivaldi installed? (Maybe it’s not able to “see” that setting somehow?)

Vivaldi is installed from the Extra repo.

Chrome based browsers open just fine. This issue has been mentioned before about vivaldi. It is not set to “not allowed” is it? To check, type chrome://settings/handlers in the urlbar.
And what happens when you type: mailto://mailto

This is affecting ALL Chrome based browsers. NOw it’s at least going to the Zoho Mail web login, but it should be launching the desktop app.

EDIT:

Setting that to Don’t Allow did the trick. Thanks
