Some recent update apparently broke the media controller integration with the VLC media player. Playback can be paused, but can’t be resumed using either the tray applet or the “Play/Pause media playback” keyboard shortcut. The play button in the tray applet is greyed out.
It used to work perfectly in the past and I haven’t changed any relevant settings in either VLC or KDE. Does anyone have an idea about what the problem could be?
Same here too, but I’ve noticed that I can use the play button from another computer by using KDE Connect, since the play button isn’t getting greyed out (but with KDE Connect on Android it still gets greyed out).

I found an interesting thing, this issue only happens when you open vlc with a file directly like $ vlc file.mp4 or when you open a media file with vlc in dolphin, but if you open vlc without any file and then you open the file with “Media > Open file”, pause and resume work perfectly, the same for directories also.
