Hello! I have decided to have my own take on creating something for the new release of Plasma after seeing some really amazing submissions other participants have already made.
This wallpaper is influenced by and focused on the aforementioned themes:
-
Reliability and stability - represented by the organized array of glass panes (which could also be interpreted as a timeline of KDE’s development that is still going strong after over 26 years, hence the project’s name - Kontinuity).
-
Familiarity and personalization - the color gradient going across all panes meaning you can customize the Plasma desktop however you like. The familiarity aspect comes from the fact that neumorphism is now becoming embraced more often and having a real life material like glass helps emphasize on this aspect [suggesting a slightly new direction in KDE’s design language, maybe a refined Breeze with a bit more fancy details? =) ], plus the sky above the structure is an homage to the idea that technology and nature can coexist in harmony.
-
Independence - simplicity of this wallpaper lets people interpret it however they want. I believe it could make a different impression on various Plasma 6 users, just like the whole desktop environment itself, limitless and open for the user’s imagination.
The project was made entirely with Blender.
All wallpapers are available here in full quality (5120x2880 - desktop, 1080x2280 - vertical).
