weird glitch on top left corner

i am having this weird graphical glitch on the corner of my kde desktop. it disappears when i run OBS so i guess its a gpu driver glitch maybe? i have checked if its a malfunctioning widget or not and nothing is working. i have also tried reinstalling my gpu drivers and it didnt work. please suggest something. any help is appreciated. thanks!

Hi! What GPU drivers are you using? I ask because theoretically, Intel chips should have the required drivers built-in to the Linux kernel - so it’s possible that installing another driver package could actually throw something off?

Also, does the issue occur with all stock theming, like if you choose the standard Breeze Global Theme?

upon further investigation i found out that the window that is glitching is
“Wayland to X11 Video Bridge” or “Xwayland Video Bridge” as stated in system monitor
i have reinstalled neon but the window remains there only.
The glitch ends only when i open system monitor and go to
Tools > Kill a window
and click on that corner.
I am using the deafult GPU drivers that come with the OS.

The issue still occurs when i use the default theming that comes with a fresh installation

My system is Acer Swift 3 (SF314-71)

Yeah, I get that too with some drivers. I had assumed it was an Nvidia issue as it disappears with some driver versions, but your laptop uses Intel graphics, so I have to now assume it is something else. I do suggest seeing if there is a proprietary driver you can install (I do not use Intel products so I am not sure if that is even possible). You can install “software-properties-qt” (Ubuntu’s graphical driver manager) and see if there are drivers available.

Hmm - other than trying out different graphics settings just to check, this bug report seems likely to be a related issue (although it looks like it’s gotten worse for the reporter) and might be worth following: 489915 – XWayland video bridge shows a white square on the desktop
