If I have KDE Plasma 5.25 as required, then reported a bug, would it actually be fixed in a new version of Plasma 5?
Plasma 5 isn’t maintained anymore by the KDE Community.
So shouldn’t that be removed?
Maybe this is a issue with your distro. They choose the version of KDE Plasma.

I think the question isn’t “why does my distro have Plasma 5?”, it’s “why does the KDE bug tracker accept the user’s bug report, without explaining that the bug will certainly never be addressed?”
It seems that if one needs to raise a really urgent or security-related bug for Plasma 5, the expected process is to message the team in Matrix.
Perhaps any bug raised against Plasma 5 in bugs.kde should get an auto-reply explaining the policy?
Good point! You are right.

So I can make a bug report on the bugs.kde category to remove kcm_formats?
If 5 is not manteined (normal, is too old) is nonsense that appears for select in bugs.kde.
