What version of Ubuntu does Neon use?

Context

For bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=493113#c8, I want to test Neon’s new KDE package selection. In virt-manager, I need to choose an OS preset:

However, the documentation on what version of Ubuntu Neon uses is inconsistent, for although neon.kde.org/faq#what-is-neon states “KDE neon is a Linux distribution built on top of the latest Ubuntu LTS release (22.04 at the moment)”, 24.04.2 is the most recent LTS release: [1]

Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS

The latest LTS version of Ubuntu, for desktop PCs and laptops.

Determination

It’s not a MediaWiki page, and I don’t see a hyperlink to modify the page, so ascertaining when it was last updated is difficult (usually, with Hugo, I’m sent to Invent). Regardless, I’d have presumed that this was out of date, but a recent experience with Qt’s “Supported Platforms” list has informed me that I shouldn’t…

KDE neon uses the current LTS release, which is 24.04 at the moment.

The maintainers and other volunteers just miss a few things like this here and there, and no one seems to have done a merge request to edit this to read '24.04" – I thought about it at some point, but forgot, as well as forgetting how to do such things, and where. Looking into it now…

…and merge request submitted.
