I’m not sure which release you are referring to from a year ago, but in terms of seeing any progress, the appimages are packaged every day there is a commit to the repository, so that is the best way to follow progress. At this point, it is unlikely that there will be any further official release in the 5.1 series, as the only commits to that branch have been bug fixes, all of which are also in master branch. There have recently been some releases (latest is 5.1.95) from the master branch which can be thought of as pre-releases of 5.2. I don’t know how many distributions have packaged those (I know Gentoo has) but tarballs are available.0 I wish there was a definite timeline, but I can say that 5.2 is a very high priority for the entire team. Once that is done, all effort will turn to the completion of the migration to Qt6/KDE6. That should not take much longer, as much of the work has already been done.

That is correct - that was the last commit to that branch other than translation updates, which apparently do not cause regeneration of the appimage.
