Where can I find direct links to apk files of KDE android apps?

The f-droid repository is broken, it just upgraded my neochat 25.04.0 aarch64 to 25.04.1 armeabi. Now when I open the app, it shows “Incompatible version”. After reinstalling the aarch64 version, I lost all data and have to set up everything all over again. The issue is similar to this and this. There is no bugzilla category to report issues about KDE Android Release repository. I tried to switch to Obtainium for neochat, but it shows 24.12.3 as the latest version. Other than shady apk sites, is there a website under KDE that hosts apk files of KDE Android apps?

Maybe adding KDE’s repo for f-droid?

But it looks like it may be the same deal there.

That sucks. The NeoChat people are probably best equipped to handle this. Do you want to create a bug report for them?

This is not a bug in neochat. It is a bug in KDE’s android stable releases f-droid repo. It prioritized the aremabi-v7a version over the aarch64-v8a version. If you read my original post again, assuming you have actually read it in the first place, you’ll see that there are 2 similar issues linked. There seems to be no category for KDE’s f-droid repo in bugzilla. Why should I report in neochat when it’s not related to the app’s code, rather KDE’s repo management and gitlab CI? Won’t it be closed as UPSTREAM/DOWNSTREAM/ERRATA/NOTABUG/WONTFIX in the first place?

Yeah I also thought sysadmin repo in the first place but Nate suggested Neochat issues. However In the KDE-Sysadmin Matrix channel I saw them talking about arm apk issues and Ingo said he’d propose a merge request. I’ll ask him to clarify if possible.

The APKs can be downloaded from KDEs GitLab. There are no stable links. You’ll have to look for the latest build pipeline and then browse the artifacts of the Craft Android job, e.g. for NeoChat you’ll see the relevant pipelines at Pipelines · Network / NeoChat · GitLab. Click on the link for the newest pipeline and look for the craft_android_qt69_arm64 job. On the right side you can Browse the job artifacts. The APK is in kde-ci-packages. Note that the job artifacts are removed after 3 days. The recommended way is to use our F-Droid repos. I always check the version when I update and make sure to install the larger of the two versions because in my experience the 64bit build is always a bit larger. This isn’t needed if the project makes use of Volker’s ecmVersionCode mentioned in my previous message because that makes sure that the F-Droid client always prefers the 64bit build.

Neochat includes this already in git-master, so it should be fixed for the nightly builds already, and will be fixed in future stable releases, but the latest release doesn’t have this version info yet.
