I am on a German keyboard layout “T1”, and I am struggling to figure out which model to choose in the keyboard settings. 105 generic does not allow me to use some of my keys, any help would be appricated!
Hi! I use an English-language layout personally, but I believe the setting you’d be looking for would be to use the area just below that Model dropdown to enable “Layouts”, and to then go to “Add” and choose the German language layout from there:
Once you’re in choosing a specific layout, there’ll be a Preview button in the bottom-left of that pop-up that will show you the key-to-symbol mapping that will be applied.
What I’m not sure of is how the extra key between Left Shift and Y would be handled, as when I peeked, it looked like the functions of that key were mapped onto nearby ones instead. That might just be a function of the fact that I don’t physically have that key present on my system, though.
