Why is the resolution in Kamoso so poor, and can it be improved?

For context, when investigating bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=503023, I was forced to utilise Kamoso for the first time in 3 years.

I’ve tried OBS, Plasma Camera, and Webcamoid. Kamoso has by far the worst picture quality in every way of any camera application I’ve ever used.

I’m perplexed as to why I can’t even change the resolution, considering that the aforementioned PipeWire + Kirigami counterparts permit it:

I ask because I don’t see who would find this application useful.
