Widget query - Tiled Menu by zren

I am currently running PCLOS Debian Plasma edition (based on Debian 12 “bookworm”).
The tiled menu works flawlessly in respect of being able to drage tiles and their group headings freely, as it uses Plasma 5.27.5.

I tried a later release, PCLOS Debian Plasma edition based on Debian 13 “trixie” and it is no longer possible to freely drag the tiles around on the Win10 style menu, instead having to use the grid that appears to the left using numberpad to change the x/y coordinates. This is on Plasma 6.3.6. zren has made a new version as when using Plasma 6.3.6 when selecting download new widgets it clearly states Tiled Menu for Plasma 6.

I find it bizarre that after I booted up an old HDD with FerenOS on it running Plasma 5.19 this behaved as it should then too, but on Plasma 5.24 it was the x/y coordinates again.

Why is Plasma continually updating - does it not make sense to stick with a stable Plasma release instead of trying to make everything Bleeding Edge? Is it due to changes in the kernel, the introduction of what I consider inferior Wayland? (Can’t make conference calls, can’t record desktop etc).
