Wifi hotspot not working when enabling password

Hello ! When using network manager and adding a shared wifi hotspot without any password, I am able to connect to the hotspot with my smartphone.

However, as soon as I chose a password (wpa 2 domestic or any wep protocol), it is impossible for me to connect my smartphone to the hotspot… Do you know any way to solve this issue ?

Thanks in advance for answering me :slight_smile:

Hello, I am having trouble with my hotspot too. It seems it runs but my phone has trouble with the password to connect then just fails. I tried wpa2 or wpa3 still doesn’t work.

I am using the latest Cachy OS / KDE Plasma 6.2.4.

If anyone can help us please let us know; or if I figure it out I will try to reply to this to help others.

Update I managed to find a very simple solution. By default after you install CachyOS / KDE it has the firewall enabled.

So I disabled the firewall and it now works. I feel kind of dumb for not figuring this out right away, but assumed it was turned off.

$ sudo ufw disable

Sorry to trouble any of you; I am mad at myself for not figuring this out right away, oh well, live and learn.
