I’m trying to use Kdenlive on a new computer, that’s currently on Windows 10 IoT LTSC.
When I use both Portable and the Installer version, they show the quick start menu.
When I click start editing, the screen closes and nothing appears afterwards. The process in Task Manager is also missing.
I’ve tried deleting my configs, reinstalling, switching my Default Printer to XPS (The docs mentioned something about Kdenlive not starting because of that), and nothing has changed.
I tried running Kdenlive in a command prompt to try and get a error log of some sort, but nothing appears at all.
Since you are running Windows 10 IoT LTSC, this crash is very likely caused by missing media dependencies. Because LTSC is a stripped-down version of Windows designed for enterprise stability, it often completely omits standard consumer media codecs and background features that heavy multimedia software like Kdenlive expects to find right out of the box.
I’d recommend checking if you can install the Media Feature Pack for your specific version of Windows 10 LTSC. Adding those missing core media dependencies back in is often the missing puzzle piece to get Kdenlive to boot up properly.
