I keep wondering, I can’t be the only one trying to use Wireshark on KDE Neon / Plasma, right? But it seems there’s an incompatibility between Wireshark and Qt 6.8 ( Unknown file type returned by save as dialog (#20294) · Issues · Wireshark Foundation / Wireshark · GitLab ), which was discovered 7 months ago, and it still isn’t fixed in the current state for me. As it is, the currently available Wireshark version is unable to save any packet capture files. Am I doing something wrong that I don’t get updates or what?
I installed wireshark using apt install wireshark
and regularly update the system via apt update
, pkcon refresh
and pkcon update
. So it should be pretty up to date. Yet this problem seems to persist. How are others coping with this? What can I do to fix it?
