Wireshark won't save captures

I keep wondering, I can’t be the only one trying to use Wireshark on KDE Neon / Plasma, right? But it seems there’s an incompatibility between Wireshark and Qt 6.8 ( Unknown file type returned by save as dialog (#20294) · Issues · Wireshark Foundation / Wireshark · GitLab ), which was discovered 7 months ago, and it still isn’t fixed in the current state for me. As it is, the currently available Wireshark version is unable to save any packet capture files. Am I doing something wrong that I don’t get updates or what?
I installed wireshark using apt install wireshark and regularly update the system via apt update, pkcon refresh and pkcon update. So it should be pretty up to date. Yet this problem seems to persist. How are others coping with this? What can I do to fix it?
