Problem is: I tried this when I was logged in into my Kubuntu system and got it to work without issues. I want to use this under EndeavourOS as well, especially since I mostly use EndeavourOS now (it’s basically Arch).
(Outdated information follows)
But here, I was unable to.
I added kio-gdrive and it’s dependencies, but when I try to add my Google account in Dolphin under Network, I only get an error (laptop was restarted prior to this after the kio-gdrive installation):
This happens after I tried to add the e-mail address, right before the password screen appears. The ‘userActionFinished error: 2’ remains after further restarts.
Any ideas? In case this is important, the signon-ui version is 0.17+20231016-3. For the Kubuntu system, it’s 0.17+git20231016.eef943f-3. They seem to be the same.
Update after around one month:
EDIT: This is where you are at a disadvantage with a rolling distribution. You are always shooting at a moving target. I tried again a moment ago, and now it works!
The only signon component which got an update recently is signon-kwallet-extension, but I am not complaining.
Did you read my first post? I absolutely can use GDrive via Dolphin/kio-gdrive. Read the HOWTO I linked how I did it, and how to avoid the issues in the two posts you linked. It’s an individual solution which also got mentioned here yesterday: KDE Online Accounts - Not Signing In - #89 by johnandmegh
Messy because the access token is frequently forgotten and I need to re-do the setup, but it works.
My issue is was that it works only on Kubuntu, not on EndeavourOS (which I use more often).
Just during writing this post, I accessed the account via Dolphin to verify that it still works.
EDIT: And to spite you and me, I retried on EndeavourOS, and the signon process and subsequent access of GDrive went flawlessly. I add my edit to the original post so I can mark it as the “solution”.
