I love these, I’m hoping you win. The vertical ones are great as well, gonna use them on my vertical monitor and my pinephone.

My order of preference is Waves, Flow, stairway and hexworld (having issues with the other two):
harmony and sun/comet are beautiful illustrations, but i don’t think they are good wallpapers: I think is much better for a default wallpaper to be abstract and as less distracting as possible, (and yes i did quite dislike the choice of safe landing in the past as well)

I also loved Safe landing when it came out and would love to see Plasma having less abstract wallpapers in the 6 cycle
EDIT: wanted to reply to the Harmony author post but messed up. My vote is for Harmony!

I guess safe landing was quite distracting, but I liked that! With its bright colors and unique design you really noticed that you have a new background.
I think Linux should be fun not always boring and barely noticeable.
Therefore I hope Harmony wins! Make Plasma 6 fun and exciting!

First of all congrats to all the finalists!
I would choose Waves as the winner as it is the most visually attractive and professional looking and most neutral.
Flow has a nice color scheme but the composition is not really well resolved.
Harmony, Hexworld and Sun/Comet are very pretty but somehow not fit to be shipped as the default wallpaper. Maybe a bit too juvenile?
Stairway is also nice but seems a bit outdated design-wise.

Personally I’d love to see all of them as an option. Are there any plans to add the ones who won’t get picked to the wallpaper library?
Hm.
As an example Linux Mint publishes several (a dozen or more?) new wallpapers with every point and major release.
As there always are several very good wallpapers in the competition - wouldn’t it be possible or desirable to include at least two or three in every Plasma release instead of only one?
Just a thought…
PS: I love Harmony and I very much liked First Landing - @frdbr and I am “old”.

I’d love hexworld updated designs to be the winner, especially the first depth of field one. It’ll give a clean look to the desktop in my opinion.
Waves is a lot like windows 11 wallpaper…
