Grid view for window preview in taskbar

When there are too many windows for the same app, the scrollbar appears in the preview panel (as seen here: Too many windows in Taskbar). Is there a way to change the view from a horizontal list to a grid one, so that all of the windows are visible at the same time? Like when alt-tabbing?

Dunno if there’s a plasma 6 version of fancy tasks. Cause that one had the option.

Thank you for this. I’ve found a new(ish) version (github/alexankitty/FancyTasks). I hoped to avoid getting my hands dirty in qml code, but oh well.
