Too many windows in Taskbar

Hello!

I have been using KDE Plasma for 10 months now and something has been bothering me for quite some time. Whenever I have multiple windows of the same application open (usually the browser), when i hover the icon on the bottom panel / taskbar it cannot show all of the currently open windows:

This is a screenshot of all my monitors where you can clearly see where the preview is cut off. It doesn’t continue on the second monitor either.

Is there a setting or something that changes the display of these tabs? Preferably with the preview of the windows.

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Jay

Hi,

When I have multiple windows of the same application open (usually browser), when I hover over the icon in the bottom panel/taskbar, there is a horizontal scroll bar to see all the windows that are currently open.

I wish it could be navigated with mouse scrolling.

It can be scrolled with the right mouse. I use Gameball and it has vertical and horizontal scroll options.

I have the same complaint about the task manager with the screen previews enabled, I finally turned screen previews off as I always find it difficult to grab the little bar and have to slide it manually to find a window off to the right.

I wholeheartedly agree they really need to add a mouse scroll when hovering over the preview menu.

It’s also annoying at times to navigate with a lot of windows (browser), as if I move the arrow off of the horizontal strip with the previews, it will disappear, so I have to very carefully navigate the mouse to NOT roll off the screen. This is more challenging than it sounds when using a trackball on a 50" display, or at least is for me. I really wish there were a slight delay to keep the window up when mousing off accidentally to NOT close your selection strip.

I use the screen edge option to show on the open apps on the current desktop.
Also can scroll the app windows on the task bar with my mouse horizontal scroll option.

Thank you. I never noticed the scrollbar. This doesn’t solve my problem but helps a lot! Sadly my vertical scroll ability of my Logitech G502 doesn’t work.

I love this mouse so much, I bought 2. 1 for home and 1 for work. Will never use a regular mouse again. ;-))

This mouse looks interesting. I’ll give it a look if my current one breaks.

Especially because I have a 45inch screen from ebay and getting from side to side is way too much wrist movements.

Hi - for what it’s worth, that extra-wide thumbnail list is intended to allow scrolling with a regular up-and-down scroll wheel. There’s an open bug report about that issue: 463054 – With horizontal panel, wide scrollable Thumbnail list not scrollable with scroll wheel on Wayland

Good to know, thanks for the info.
