How to open windows in last position before closing?

how can i get newly opened windows to be placed in the last snapped position they were before closing them?

  • i launch an app (=open a window)
  • i snap the window to e.g. the left side of the screen
  • i close the window
  • i open it again
    window is anywhere (e.g. centered or top left, whatever is selected in settings → window management → window behavior → advanced → placement). but i want it to be snapped to the left side again automatically.

Hi - that’s not currently possible, but definitely something that is actively desired by many developers - ultimately depending on some upstream work in the Wayland protocols, I believe. Some more links to read about this if you’re interested are:
