Installing Timeline under KDE Neon

I’m trying to install timeline from here:
https://thetimelineproj.sourceforge.net/

There is a linux version of the program (it’s written in python), but KDE Neon seems to lack humblewx, so i can’t run it.

I tried to install the windows version under wine, but running 32bit windows programs seems not to be supported in KDE Neon.

Here (Impossible to install wine32 on my computer on kde neon plasma 6) it is said that one should try to install it from flatpak.

I did that, but I don’t know how to proceed to get my program running. I can install it from playonlinux or q4wine, but the program itself crashes when starting.

So is there anybody with less “noobness” than me who could help me out here? Either with how to install humblewx or with how to get the windows version running…

Thanks a lot!

probably be easier to run it in a fedora VM or just install the snap version.

https://thetimelineproj.sourceforge.net/installing.html

try the snap, or other options.

Humblewx is a python thing itself, and not all distros have it, but can be installed – see the instructions above, though to be honest it still adds a lot of complexity.

Just install the snap, you can find it in Discover.

Or… install the WineHQ flatpak from Discover, then just double click the windows installer.

Seems to work:

The snap is probably less complicated.

Yeah, I did that. I don’t really like snap in general, I even had uninstalled it, but it’s easier than all the hassle with the other ways.
Thanks again for the help!

A followup question: the snap application doesn’t have a window drawn around it (no titlebar etc.). Is that normal?

It might be by design:
One screenshot from their website shows it without one.
