Is Plasma Mobile really slow for anyone?

I have it installed on postmarketOS edge on my Fairphone 4, and although I’ve been informed that hardware acceleration is supported (which I’ve confirmed via glxinfo), it’s a lot slower than the OEM’s AOSP distribution was.

Considering I used to have locgat loggers and cell tower trackers in the background, I wouldn’t have expected that Plasma Mobile could get slower with only waydroid installed, since I’d presume it’s a lot lighter. Consequently, I’d like to ask whether anyone here has experienced comparative slowness on similarly powerful hardware.

If not, I’ll ask at some of the undermentioned instead:

…unless anyone has better ideas, like how to diagnose it:

I tried both PRETTY_NAME="Fedora Linux 42 (KDE Plasma Mobile)" [1] and PRETTY_NAME="Fedora Linux 42 (KDE Plasma Desktop Edition)" [1:1] in QEMU VMs, via virt-manager. I’d enabled GPU passthrough in neither (because it caused problems) [2] yet the difference was startling. In Mobile, a small mouse flick allows an animation to proceed at its default pace. During that, the navigation drawer flickers and the application invocation animations stutter.

It might be the animation scale. It’s mostly during animations when it’s noticeable.
