Kde connect not checking devices

So I’m having this issue that today kde connect wasn’t finding my phone on the same network. I tried troubleshooting by un-pairing and when I went to try and pair again on my laptop it basically tries for a second when I try to add a device then immediately goes back to no devices found, it doesn’t seem to be actually trying to connect.

I tried allowing udp & tcp ports 1714-1764 like I saw from other people with no luck, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothings worked so far

I started having a similar issue.

if it’s relevant:
Phone: /e/OS
Laptop: EndeavourOS (Arch)

right I forgot to say

laptop: kde neon
phone: calyxos

I also just tested with my desktop and it actually connects fine to both my laptop and phone, after connecting to my laptop I tried to find my phone again and it still won’t find it

desktop is pop os

ok so I restarted my phone and got it to connect by initiating thru that but the application on the laptop still has that error so I can access the phone and fully use all the features but the laptop can’t initiate the search itself

the app just flashes for a second when I try to pair new device and it just resets back to it’s home page.

Same problem here. App is flashing and crashing. Downgrade App to 1.32.2 helped (at least until now).

Ah: laptop is Arch (plasma 6.1.5, kde framework 6.6.0, qt 6.7.2, kdeconnect 24.08.1, kernel 6.10.10 ).

And here too  The update dated 28 Sept 2024 (v1.32.4) in the Google Play store (that reached me yesterday) is the origin of the problems starting.

It looks like it is already known and fixed and on the way to the play store:

Guess we just need to be patient… :hourglass:

I am not a patient person… (which is an obstructive trait btw if your internet speed is 11MBit/s and the task is to build android apps with gradle…)

Compiled from sources and can confirm that the (or at least my) crashes are fixed with the comming v1.32.5.

Oh I was talking about issues with the app on my laptop but I did update the android app thru f-droid to v1.32.3 and it crashes on start up so I went back to 1.32.2

the laptop app tho still can’t connect to devices on it’s own

FWIW, it started working again for me :person_shrugging:

desktop app: 24.08.1
android app: 1.32.3
