MASSIVE tooltips in Dolphin

I fould that I have to disable tooltips or they have a tendency to get in the way. They are way too massive, and to be honest I do not see any reason to have them as large as they are. Is there any way to reduce their size?

use F11 instead of tool tips.

No, this comes up weekly - for now, you either have the BIG one, or you turn it off. You can always use the information panel - mine toggles with F11 - or AltEnter (Properties) - to get details,

I have the info button in the toolbar already. That said I thought I saw somewhere that this was already addressed so I turned it back on after not using it in what seems forever. This seems like it would be easy to fix since removing or giving the option not to show a preview of the item and only showing the info for the item which is what most peeps want. We can already see what the item looks like. We don’t need to see it in the tooltip.

Exactly the second one again no need for a thumbnail in the tooltip, and yes too much missing info that should be in the tooltip.

you can somewhat control what is shown in the tooltip by using the F11 panel and going into the configure options.

you can turn off all the info items by unchecking the boxes

the tooltip file name and and the icon seem to a permanent part of the tooltip, tho.

also turning off the preview under F11 unfortunately does not seem to affect the tool tip and it will continue to show a preview for that file type, if it is enabled.

Proper tooltip example:

Video tooltip:

Full file or folder name

Date and time created (following what you have set in Dolphin Settings)

Date and time last accessed (following what you have set in Dolphin settings)

Size of file

Dimensions of the file

Possible the audio and video codecs of the file

The tooltip settings and the view settings should be completely separate, one should not have any bearing on the other.
