I’m on the following version of plasma and there seem to be more notifications that don’t dismiss themselves after display. The behavior I usually observe is that if an action runs into errors, such as a folder cannot be deleted because trash was full; notification does not go away until you click close.
This behavior is now visible for more actions such as extracting files and there seems to be an “undefined” next to the application (dolphin).
When I move my cursor over the notification, an animation shows counting time to dismiss, but does not go away after 4 sec(?) passes.
Is this new behavior and am I supposed to classify these actions somewhere? What does undefined mean here?
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.26.0
Qt Version: 6.11.1
I am having the same issue, but only with Dolphin so far. Any other application I get notifications from seems to work fine.
In 6.7 seems that notifications enter from the side of the screen. Maybe this will fix the problem (or not). 6.7 is close.
Regards
Yes, dophin is the only app that seems to have this issue so far. Do your “sticky” notifications also have “Dolphin undefined” as title?
I did see this article before and based on it, the only change for notifications seems to be animation i.e. slide in vs fade in. I guess there could be more to it than that. Though it’s strange that dolphin seems to be the only app (so far) which has an issue and all of the “sticky” notifications have “undefined” as part of title.
See Notifications Not Disappearing for details
afaik a fix has already been merged
Thanks for the link, I looked through the bug and the issue seems applicable to all apps and not just dolphin like I and @Neimod ran into. Either way, it seems the same i.e notifications not auto dismissed and “undefined” in title.
I know the issue has been clarified already, but I just wanted to confirm that my notifications look the same. Now I will just wait a bit for the next plasma update since the patch has already been merged.
