Persistent Floating Notification Bubbles for Plasma

First off, thanks for KDE! Plasma has been a fantastic experience!!

I’ve been exploring how to best handle ToDos and Reminders within Plasma. I currently use tasks with synced reminders across devices, but I often find calendar “reminders” a bit clunky. When you have more than a couple due, the experience can get overwhelming, the screen quickly gets crowded.

What if we could transform these notifications into floating bubbles (draggable) always visible until dismissed? Imagine your day’s tasks stacked as little buttons, each with quick actions like done, snooze, or open app. A task you keep procrastinating could sit there nudging you until you finally hit done.

Could Plasma support this kind of floating buttons today, or would it need a plasmoid/extension? If there are ones that’d be great to try on.

Do you see value in this? Curious if others feel the same itch. Looking forward to your thoughts!

That sound like a good idea.

I don’t think i need such features but it could be very usefull to extand what it’s possible to do with notifications specially the ability to pin notification and drag them around.

Something like this would go well for the file transfer notification too

There are probably other things where this kind of thing could work well, any ideas?

I made a notification concept (THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO BE REAL) where I simplified the popup to be less cluttered and added a pin button (sorry if it’s look like shi–).

I also think that hiding the controls when it’s not hovered is a good idea to reduce cluttering even more without sacrifing features:

In my head the entire space would be draggable around the screen.

What do you think ?
