Hi all,
Sorry if this is the wrong place. I recently migrated from Windows 11 to Fedora 43, and Plasma and Fedora for that matter have been great. The only issue I’m having is on newer Kernel’s.
On 6.18.5, Plasma works perfectly. But on every version afterwards, .7, .8 and now today .9 it seems to fail to load.
On the login screen, all my displays show up without issue, and I enter my password on anyone and login. After that, it appears to briefly load before stopping, and all the monitors go black, but I can move my mouse across them all. If I move it to my left most monitor, to the top left hand corner, I can access the Desktop feature, and select a new desktop, or create a new desktop. If I press Ctrl, Alt, F3 the terminal appears on all screens.
I’m not sure if it’s GPU driver related, but previously before I had installed the drivers and made them work with Secure Boot, only my monitor connected to my onboard graphics would light up on the login screen, but even on the newer Kernel’s the ones connected to the GPU all light up on the login screen and I can move my mouse to them to enter the password.
Please let me know if more Fedora related as some people pointed out in a similar post here NVIDIA Kernel module failed to load in fedora plasma kde 41 and I’ll check out those forums.
