After the last Qt upgrade to version 6.10 in Arch Linux, I have had an issue with plasma widgets on the desktop, system monitor widget showing kernel version, displayed as ‘text only’ no longer works. Similarly with the same widget showing core temperatures, again it fails to work when set to ‘text only’.
Did you reboot or logout after the upgrade ?
You can expect serious bugs in case you don’t do it after most upgrades.
Of course! reboot after important upgrades is done automatically.
Yesterday I did a fresh installation, it’s the same, it’s a bug in Qt 6.10
It’s also broken in openSUSE Tumbleweed after the update to Qt 6.10
Please report a bug to bugs.kde.org
Fixed in 6.5.
Regards
No, it is not fixed.
Yes, seems that was reopened. I have Plasma 6.4.5 yet. Yesterday goes out Plasma 6.5 in openSUSE TW but I do my updates in Monday.
Regards
I installed the update and it still doesn’t work, this is also on TW. If you use an older AMD/ATI card and use wayland the update to plasma 6.5 might break your cursor.
Just tested after update and reboot.
Color me not surprised as 6.5.0 (on Arch) is still Qt 6.10 based.
One of my wallpapers changed into “dark mode” have to look into that new settings.
At least my custom Mouse cursor still works as I’m not on an older AMD card. ![]()
I have Qt 6.10 with Plasma 6.4.5 on my openSUSE TW and the plasmoid System Monitor as text is shown:
I see text or the issue is other thing? (I am confused now)
Regards
Not sure, maybe something else is the root cause.
As I explained in my few days older thread, about basically the same issue (or so I thought) , I can manage to get them shown as well but they do not survive a reboot.
Ok. Tomorrow I’ll see if change or not.
EDIT: I have Nvidia card. GTX 1070.
Regards
EDIT after reboot: Yes, is affected.
2h ago, openSUSE TW rolled out a new snapshot with Qt updates (but don’t seems for the bug of system monitor plasmoid). Fixes for:
and
The issue with plasmoid is in Plasma side or in Qt side? (issue appears with the change to 6.10)
