Single click always opens files despite system set to select. (dolphin)

On the Quick Settings in Fedora KDE (5.27.11) I have “Clicking Files or Folders” set to “Select” however when I am in Dolphin (23.08.5), it always opens on first click. I have reset the setting in plasma several times but its not taking effect in Dolphin for some reason.

Thank you for letting us know

For posterity, as this was a top result in searches for the issue online even in 2025, I’ve found the exact cause: This is due to a configured setting in PHOB1AN’s Kvantum themes. By default, these themes are configured to “Click Behavior - Single Click”. Changing this to Double Click (in Kvantum Manager > Configure Active Theme > Miscellaneous > “Click behavior:”) will change the behavior, and the Kvantum theme can then be happily used if desired.

It’s my impression that Kvantum application styles do not respect KDE’s click interaction setting in general. Switching to a built-in application style (Breeze, Oxygen, Windows 9x, Fusion) will cause this setting to be respected.
