Using Chromium apps as independant applications

Hello,

There are on line tools i d like to use as desktop apps. I created chromium apps for the webmail I use but the app then get grouped with all chromium windows. I know I can change this behaviour as I did it before but since I had to re install for the latest version of Debian, I cannot find out how to do that.
I d like to be able to change the name and icon of this app so that I have the impression it is a real app and so that i am able to find it quicker. How can i achieve this ?

Thanks in advance

There are topics on this on this site. You could simply use chromium apps, but they have a disadvantage ( several really) like they all use all the extensions which are installed on the “mother-browser”. Imho, ssb’s are a way better option.

The easiest way is apps. Depending on the browser it’s more or less the same.

I use “standalone sites” quite a bit. For example, YouTube. It doesn’t make sense to have all extensions installed on the main browser for one specific url. You want the site specific ones, not the whole bunch. Apps can’t do that, ssb’s can.

You could argue that you could use a different profile and all that but …

It depends what you want of course and if an app is just fine, do that.

If not and since you’re on debian, you could check the repos for webapp manager. If it’s not there, check the deb from the Mint repos.
