Been using Neon with Plasma 6.2 and finally gave in to the upgrade notices today. Oops. I used the software center, as that popped up in the notifications, so I clicked okay and then it went through the upgrade / reboot process.
Note that the session list is empty - clicking on it does nothing. This is a desktop, so I’ve no idea why the OSB is there. Trying to type in the password, or using the OSB does nothing.
I found this thread so I switched to a virtual terminal and when through that process. Now not even the login manager will load!
Any suggestions on how I can get Plasma back up and running?
Sorry it took me so long to reply. That post did help - got my system back up and running. SDDM isn’t working, but I guess that is a different issue. I can at least get into Plasma now :-).
By the way, if you enabled NUMLOCK on your keyboard in the Settings when logging in, then you also need to apply the Plasma settings in the SDDM section (there is a list that takes into account the NUMLOCK status), and when you enter the password screen, you can use the numeric keypad without pressing NUMLOCK.
