Can't login after update to 6.3 (Neon)

Been using Neon with Plasma 6.2 and finally gave in to the upgrade notices today. Oops. I used the software center, as that popped up in the notifications, so I clicked okay and then it went through the upgrade / reboot process.

The login screen looked like this:

Note that the session list is empty - clicking on it does nothing. This is a desktop, so I’ve no idea why the OSB is there. Trying to type in the password, or using the OSB does nothing.

I found this thread so I switched to a virtual terminal and when through that process. Now not even the login manager will load!

Any suggestions on how I can get Plasma back up and running?

Thanks!

I get the same issue. after running pkcon update, I can not login. the issue is something about qt6. it is different from previous reported

The post linked above links to https://askubuntu.com/questions/1506052/how-to-fix-kde-neon-user-edition-errors-and-update-to-plasma-6
Did you already try those steps from a virtual terminal (press ctrl+alt+f4)?

If this does not work, please post the full error message about qt6.
