Using mardown in kate?

Excuse for french, I copy here exactly what I see in discover

I installed the paquet

"Ark - Afficheur “kpart” de fichiers “Markdown” avec un logiciel utilisant “kparts”

And still not able to use it in kate.

I try to do what I see in the git page :

To use the MarkdownPart KParts plugin in a KParts-using applications, often you will need to configure that globally in the Plasma System Settings, and there in the “File Associations” page. Select the MIME type “text/markdown” and in the “Embedding” tab in the “Service Preference Order” group make sure “Markdown View (markdownpart)” is on top of the list.

But, in “Markdown” type of file, I still does not see “Markdown View (markdownpart)” in the proposed choices for applications to use.

In the tab “integration” I have by default “utiliser la configuration du groupe “text” activate.
The others are " Afficher le fichier dans l’afficheur intégré” and " Afficher le fichier dans un afficheur séparé"

I do not understand what does that mean. Just want to be able to open mardown in kate and see what it looks like, as the print screen shows in the description of the packet.

Thanks

Enable “Document Preview” in Kate Settings>Plugins.

It works, thanks

After upgrade to ubuntu-24.10 it does not work anymore.

  • Kpart for markdown is still installed.
  • Conf in “File Associations” page (general cond from kde) is still the same as described in my fist post.
  • “Document Preview” in Kat’s Conf is still enable.

Is there anything else in plasma 6 ou in wayland compared to X i used before ?

Or I shoul make a bug report ?

It looks like others have had similar issues, and that it’s an issue with an updated package needing to be built for Kubuntu 24.10:
